Newsletter SignupAre you having Signal Integrity problems? Are your doing multiple chip and board spins to get your design to work? Do you wonder how other engineers can run simulations and still have time to for their design work?
You too can learn how to harness the power of Signal Integrity and become a rock star in your company! You'll reduce product spins, save money, and make designs work that others thought wasn't possible.
Most training classes are either a harrowing lecture on Maxwells equations or a step-by-step product tutorial neither of which will make you a rock star. So we've taken a different approach by combining the theory with practical examples and hands-on labs and exercises.
Our goal is to teach a practical methodology for doing Signal Integrity analysis that involves everything a modern day digital designer needs: theory, practical engineering, and software.
Our class is held for 2 days where we cover Signal Integrity front to back. We introduce a methodology on how to use Signal Integrity simulation and theory to enhance your design knowledge and implement a Signal Integrity flow into your work flow.
Topics Covered:
IO Buffer Design and Modeling. SPICE, IBIS, and Macro models and how to quality check and simulate them. IO buffer design from single-ended to differential signaling. IO buffer design parameters including output impedance, slew rate, capacitance. Labs include SPICE and IBIS modeling.
Interconnects. Packages,PCB traces, vias, and connectors. Review of characteristic impedance and common PCB structures with equations. Introduction to field solvers and usage cases. PCB stackup design and analysis. Overview of crosstalk and impact on noise and timing analysis. Labs include PCB stackup design and exploration and crosstalk simulations.
Noise and Timing Analysis. Putting everything together and running analysis on simulation data. Overview of noise margin and how to setup a budget and perform analysis through single measurements and eye diagrams. Design exploration of what causes noise in a system from DC and AC losses. Review of synchronous and source synchronous clocking architectures and how to calcualate setup and hold times. Differential signaling analysis using eye diagrams. Labs include PCI, DDR2, and LVDS simulation and analysis exercises.
Included With Training Class:
Each student who attends one of our training classes will get the following:
Refunds will be given only in the case where Signal Consulting Group LLC cannot hold a scheduled class. All refunds will be given in the form of a check. If a student cancels after signing up for a class a refund cannot be given but a space in the next public class will be given instead (subject to availability).
Our public 2 day class is held in select US cities various times of the year. If you would like us to bring the same class to your site then contact us to make arrangements. We do require a minimum of 5 students in order to hold a class. We can also offer shorter or longer classes and specific material as well so ask us today about our on site Signal Integrity training classes.
All students are required to bring with them a Windows laptop PC in order to properly setup the Signal Integrity software used for the class and participate in the labs and exercises. Students must have user access to be able to install software on the laptop. If a student cannot bring a laptop of their own they need to contact us before signing up for a class to make arrangements.
Our two day class with the included software, books, and training material is only $1895.00 USD per student.
Use our signup form below to reserve your spot in our next class. You will be able to choose your form of payment and will be contacted within 48 hours to make final arrangements.
